Our Clinical Director
Nazia Hussain
Fully qualified, experienced & insured to Advanced Level.
Independent Prescriber trained at Masters Level to prescribe for a range of medical conditions but specialising in Dermatology, weight management, hair loss & Cosmetic Medicine.
Nazia Hussain began her career as a clinical pharmacist over fifteen years ago, and since qualifying in 2000 she has worked as a consultant, manager and superintendent in various medical sectors, including hospitals, the community and private practices.
Nazia later received advanced training in dermatology and aesthetic medicine during her independent prescribing course at Masters level and is qualified to prescribe in all areas of medicine. She also developed a wealth of expertise in cosmetic science and has specialist knowledge in medical, pharmaceutical, cosmeceutical and natural treatments and formulations and is a member of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists
Having suffered with acne and the resulting deep scars since her late teens, Nazia quickly became aware of a lack of products available on the market and a lack of support for those suffering from dermatological problems. It was this desire to fill the gap in the skincare industry that prompted her to extend her qualifications and engage in further research into medical skincare.
After winning a government grant with the aid of local universities, Nazia began to formulate skincare, health and beauty drinks in laboratories using the knowledge and training that she had gained in cosmetic science and dermatology.
In 2005 she was offered a job at an aesthetic clinic as a result of her expertise in the skincare and beauty industry. It was at this stage of her career that Nazia first received training in injectables, laser treatment, hair loss prevention and skin rejuvenation. She quickly began to master these skills and developed a special interest in cosmetic medicine and her passion, energy and dedication was reflected in the quality of her work which soon earned her a loyal following.
In 2011 the prescribing doctor she worked with retired and Nazia decided to return to university and begin training as an Independent Prescriber, completing this Masters level course with high marks. Nazia has maintained a dedication to her education and has continued furthering her training to complete advanced level qualifications in aesthetics (including Botox and fillers) and has worked with leading doctors and surgeons in the UK and abroad, including London’s prestigious Harley Street. This training has enabled Nazia to hone her skills in specialist areas such as toxins, skin rejuvenation, hair loss, radiofrequency, and laser treatments.
Nazia also travels across the world looking for the latest innovative technology to launch and distribute to the UK and around the world. With the help of leading medical practitioners, she has also set up a training academy to educate other healthcare professionals wanting to enter the cosmetic industry, based on the new HEE guidelines for cosmetic practitioners. Nazia was one of a handful of practitioners across the country chosen by the HEE to assist with the new cosmetic guidelines and was on the Expert Reference Group for the Health Education England.
Fascinated by the creative and restorative aspect of aesthetic medicine, Nazia embraces the endless possibilities that relate to the improvement of skin quality and facial features. She and her team always enlist the help of the best skincare, wrinkle reduction properties and safe dermal filler techniques in order to restore and soften the natural effects of aging.
Nazia stands out from other aesthetic practitioners due to her in-depth knowledge on skincare, her advanced training in aesthetics and the golden ratio of beauty and her extensive experience in distinguishing which products are safe and genuine and which are counterfeit and potentially harmful. This knowledge can only be gained from a high level of advanced education, training and experience of nearly twenty years and formulating skincare products – something that her competitors often lack.
Nazia has a warm and friendly nature that communicates professionalism and discretion with each and every client. She firmly believes that when it comes to aesthetics a ‘less is more’ approach works best, and she performs these skills with exceptional attention to detail. Not wanting simply to be seen as just another aesthetics clinic, Nazia drew from her experience training health professionals within the NHS and private sector to mark out her clinic as different and bespoke. Nazia achieved this goal because she has spent at least twice as long in her professional training as some of the other health professionals within the NHS. She feels that this, combined with her passion for skincare, has made her clinic and work exceptionally rare within the industry and as a result she has won support from the Department of Health, RPS, GPhC, and Health Education England.
Alongside Nazia, the Cosmetic Room team specialises in non-surgical, minimally invasive treatments, and works closely with a team of experts to whom she refers more complex cases
